Questions and answers
Frequently asked questions
What should I bring to a first meeting?
Recent statements for your 401(k), IRA and other savings, your Social Security estimate from ssa.gov/myaccount, any pension paperwork, and your last tax return. If you are missing something, come anyway.
Should my spouse come too?
Yes, please. A plan should make sense to both of you. Tim learned that the hard way from a client he calls Louie, and he tells that story on our page about planning for a spouse.
Does the Income Estimator save my answers?
No. The math runs on your own screen. Nothing is saved unless you ask us to email you a summary or call you, and you give us your name and email and tick the box.
What does a first meeting cost?
Nothing. Meetings with Tim are free, and so are our workshops and dinners.
How are you paid?
Only by the insurance company, and only if you choose an annuity or insurance policy that fits your needs. Everything else we do is free to you. There are no planning or advisory fees.
Are you part of Social Security or Medicare?
No. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by the Social Security Administration, Medicare or any government agency. Tim is a National Social Security Advisor, which is a private designation.
Do I have to live near Carmel or Brownsburg?
Our offices are in Carmel and Brownsburg, Indiana. Tim is licensed in every state and the District of Columbia except Hawaii. Call us and we will tell you whether we can help where you live.
What is the Lankford Roadmap?
Our five step process: Chart where you are today, Map your destination, Navigate the decisions ahead, Guide your plan, and Journey together as life changes.
